Pick a photo and a person in PrivateBond, or in any Messages conversation tap +, then PrivateBond.
They tap to view
Each person confirms their number once by sending one text. Then they see their own invisibly marked copy.
You see who viewed
The PrivateBond app on your phone shows who viewed each photo. If a copy turns up where it shouldn't, it's traceable to the person who received it.
Questions
Do we all need iPhones?+
Yes. PrivateBond is an iPhone app, and its Messages extension needs iMessage, so everyone who views needs an iPhone with the app. If someone in a group uses Android, the conversation is a text-message group and the Messages extension can't run there.
Is it free?+
Sending is free, always. Your first 5 views are free. Unlimited viewing, and video, are Plus, bought at privatebond.io/plus.
What does "invisibly marked" mean?+
Each person's copy has small changes you can't see, and every copy is different. If a copy turns up somewhere it shouldn't, it can be compared with the copies that were made to find out whose it was.
What do you collect?+
Your phone number, confirmed by text; the photos you share; and which verified people viewed them. The person who shared a photo can see the verified number of each person who viewed it. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
What does the other person see?+
In Messages, a PrivateBond bubble in the chat. If they don't have the app yet, it says "Tap to get PrivateBond." Once they've verified, they see their own copy right in the conversation.
Can I use PrivateBond on the website?+
You can sign in with your phone at privatebond.io to manage your account. Sharing and viewing happen in the app and in Messages.
